BE A VOLUNTEER

SEABED CLEANING

Ocean dumping is a major cause of marine pollution. As most marine litter sinks to the seabed, the need for underwater cleaning only keeps growing. In seabed cleaning actions, diving volunteers will collect waste underwater and categorize them afterwards for recycling and upcycling. Tons of marine waste go into the ocean everyday, including but not limited to plastic, metal and glass. These wastes in the ocean directly threaten marine creatures and the environment. Seabed cleaning is a palliative effort we can do to help with our limited capability.

GHOST NET CLEANING

Ghost nets cleaning is a vital initiative aimed at removing abandoned, lost, or discarded fishing nets—commonly referred to as “ghost nets”—from marine environments. These discarded nets entangle and trap marine life, causing severe harm to aquatic ecosystems. Ghost nets cleaning involves volunteers, advanced divers, and conservation specialists working together to locate, retrieve, and properly dispose of these hazardous fishing gears. Clearing ghost nets helps save marine creatures from harm and also contributes to the health and balance of our ocean. This proactive effort plays a crucial role in mitigating the impact of marine debris and supporting the conservation of marine biodiversity.

BEACHING CLEANING

Beach cleaning is a crucial effort aimed at maintaining the beauty and ecological health of our coastlines. It involves volunteers and community members coming together to collect and properly dispose of litter, debris, and plastic waste that accumulates on beaches. Beach cleaning not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of these natural spaces but also prevents harmful materials from entering the ocean and endangering marine life. By participating in beach cleaning activities, we demonstrate our commitment to environmental stewardship and create a safer, cleaner habitat for both humans and the diverse species that depend on coastal ecosystems. It’s a hands-on way to make a positive impact and protect our oceans from the harmful effects of pollution.
